Paul Merrett
Paul Merrett is chef director at the The Victoria East Sheen and the Jolly Fine Pub Group. In his fine-dining days Paul’s cooking was twice awarded a Michelin star before he found his culinary home in London’s gastropub scene.
Paul Merrett launched The Farm, a successful gastro pub in Fulham in 2006. In 2008 he purchased and re-launched The Victoria in East Sheen. Hard work and dedication saw The Victoria named London gastro pub of the year 2013. Paul trains and mentors all the chefs in the group as well as working on menu development and food quality.
Paul also maintains a successful media career – being involved in several television series including The Best, Ever Wondered about Food, Economy Gastronomy, Family Supercooks and appearances on Market Kitchen, Perfect, Daily Cooks Challenge and Saturday Kitchen.
Paul Merrett is also a successful author of three cookbooks: Using the Plot, Economy Gastronomy and Spice Odyssey.
Paul is passionate about Food Ethics – he is a spokesman for Compassion in World Farming & the RSPCA’S Freedom Food campaign. Paul is also a supporter of Action Against Hunger and Hospitality Action. He is also regularly to be found hosting cookery mornings in local schools with the charity School Food Matters.
